Stanford Professional Women of Los Angeles

About Us

Who Are We?

SPWLA is a diverse group of Stanford affiliates, representing a wide range of careers and professions. Our membership includes recent grads who are just starting out, mothers who may or may not work outside of the home, retirees, and everything in between.

Club membership is open to all alumni, spouses, Stanford students and parents of students and alumni, regardless of gender.

When Do We Meet?

Generally we meet monthly for dinner with a guest speaker or a panel of speakers on weeknights, September through May.  We meet in restaurants or other interesting venues around Los Angeles, as well as in members’ homes for smaller regional meetings.

We also organize occasional special events on weekends – theater, family get-togethers, holiday tea, field trips to museums, cooking classes, and so on.

What Is the Cost?

Members of the class of 2017 receive a complimentary membership for the year as a gift. The general membership fee is only $25, or $15 for new members, recent graduates (2013-2017), and those with an annual income of $25,000 or less. You can also pay $40 for a 2-year membership (with a savings of $10), or $50 for 3-year membership (with a savings of $25). Monthly dinner meetings and events typically cost from $15-75.
